Two New 2022 Ontario Provincial Jiu Jitsu Champions

Two New 2022 Ontario Provincial Jiu Jitsu Champions

Greenwood Jiu Jitsu currently operating out of Leaside Toronto sent 2 competitors to Niagara Falls to represent Checkmat Toronto Jiu Jitsu. First up is Teagan who fought the entire division without any points scored on her. In Jiu Jitsu you are awarded points based on advancement in positions so shutting all her opponents down is not an easy task. After a solid year of competing in every jiu jitsu toronto tournament it was a pleasure to bump her up to the next belt level. 2023 will be a challenging year as jiu jitsu has 3 levels of grey belt so the talent level is very deep. As a coach you could not ask for a better jiu jitsu student than someone who listens and work hard.

For the Adults we had Ibrahim fighting at the purple belt level and he made quick work in the final hitting his favorite choke the Darce. This was his first tournament at purple and first since all the covid restrictions have been lifted. All the countless hours he spent on the mats plus of the mats watching jiu jitsu videos is really started to show.

This wraps up the 2022 Toronto Brazilian Jiu Jitsu season and time to take a little rest on the intensity and get ready to turn it up again in 2023.
