In any journey worth taking — whether it’s in Jiu Jitsu, business, or personal growth — there will always be people who don’t want to see you succeed. At Greenwood Jiu Jitsu Toronto, we build a culture of hard work, respect, and accountability.
Unfortunately, not everyone is ready for that.

Recently, our school has been targeted by a series of fake one-star Google reviews. These reviews come from anonymous accounts — clearly coordinated by someone no longer part of our team.
Here’s the truth: I’ve only ever had to remove one person from Greenwood Jiu Jitsu.
Not for lack of skill, not for any personal disagreement — but because they didn’t align with the respectful, growth-driven environment we are building here.

They were giving an option according to our policy but didn’t want to comply so they weren’t asked to leave lightly. In fact, they pleaded to stay.
But leadership sometimes means making hard calls to protect the culture for the greater good.
One person’s ego will never outweigh the needs of an entire team.

Rather than moving on, this individual has chosen a different path: hiding behind fake names and online friends, trying to hurt what they can no longer be part of.

It won’t work.

You don’t build a strong Jiu Jitsu school on fake reviews.
You build it on real results, real relationships, and a real team that shows up every day — sweating, learning, improving together.

If you’re reading this and you’ve trained with us, you already know what Greenwood Jiu Jitsu is about.
If you’re new, we invite you to see it for yourself — come meet the coaches, meet the students, and feel the energy on the mats. We stand on our decision to remove this person as it only takes one bad apple to ruin the atmosphere. After seeing how they behaved afterwards it shows their true character and why they don’t belong in our team environment.

We’re not going anywhere.

We know who the 26 year old One-Star Assassin striking from behind a keyboard in his basement telling his gaming friends to leave bad reviews….but are leaving him anonymous …..at least for now.
Meanwhile, we’ll be here, doing real work with real people.

See you on the mats.
