We know exactly who the One-Star Assassin is. Every Jiu Jitsu school in Toronto and the surround area is a very tight community and we all respect each other. So we may keep the name private online but word of mouth spreads fast. Jiu Jitsu school owners talk among each other and warn them about people like this Assassin.
We know the name behind the fake accounts.
We know the story — and how it ended.
We know the truth because we lived it.
But here’s what separates us from the energy they bring:
We’re not here to fight online.
We’re here to grow on the mats.
At Greenwood Jiu Jitsu, we believe how you respond to adversity defines who you are — not just as an athlete, but as a human being.
We could’ve fired back.
We could’ve named names.
We could’ve let the bitterness take up space in our heads and hearts.
But we’re choosing something better.
We’re choosing to turn their negativity into our momentum.
Because here’s the thing:
- Every fake review reminds us how important real community is.
- Every bitter comment proves the power of the culture we’ve protected.
- Every attempt to tear us down just makes us double down on what we believe in.
We’ll keep building.
We’ll keep supporting our students.
We’ll keep proving — every single day — that no matter how loud the noise gets, our actions speak louder.
The One-Star Assassin gave us something unexpected:
A spotlight. A challenge. A reminder of why we do this.
And we’re grateful for it — because we’ve used that energy to sharpen our focus, elevate our message, and bring even more people into something real.
So to that former student:
We wish you well.
We hope you find what you’re really looking for — and one day, the maturity to grow through it.
But until then, we’ll be right here.
Not just moving forward — thriving.
To our team, our students, and our community:
Thank you for always choosing the high road.
For showing that BJJ is more than a sport — it’s a path.
And on that path, we don’t run from conflict — we rise above it.
Because that’s how we win.
See you on the mats.
